Perito Moreno Glacier Tour

Perito Moreno Glacier Tour (fullday):

After breakfast, we will start our guided tour along Route 11 towards Los Glaciares National Park. We will pass by the edge of the main body of Argentino Lake and move on towards the branch called Rico. We will stop at the entrance of the National Park in order to pay the admission fee and, once inside the park, we will go to “Curva de los Suspiros” (“Curve of Sighs”), where we will get off the vehicle in order to see the Perito Moreno Glacier for the first time. Further on, we will stop at the Muelle Bajo las Sombras (Pier Under the Shadows) so that those who are willing to go sailing can get closer to the southern wall of the Glacier (optional). Then we will move on to the front catwalks of the glacier, where we will watch it from different balconies and enjoy our free time by appreciating the various detachments.
Return to El Calafate.

Safari by Boat (optional): Within the Los Glaciares National Park, passengers have the opportunity to take a boat ride, navigating along the northern face of the Perito Moreno glacier. This boat excursion is optional and is not included in the full day tour price. Passengers are not obliged to take the glacier boat excursion but instead can wait in the National Park’s cafeteria.

Mini-Trekking Glacier Tour

Perito Moreno Glacier with Mini-Trekking Tour (full day)

After breakfast, we will start our tour along Route 11 towards Los Glaciares National Park and pay the admission fee at the entrance. We will go on by bus towards Puerto Bajo de Las Sombras (Under the Shadows Port), where we will take a small ship to cross Rico Branch. On the opposite coast, we will meet the tour guides. After a 20-minute walk through the forest, the guides will help us put on some crampons to walk on ice for approximately 2 hours. Then we will enjoy a whiskey toast with glacier ice. Back on the coast, we will go to the pier by ship and move on without a tour guide to the lookout points or catwalks of the glacier, where we will stay for about 45 minutes. Return to El Calafate.

Ice River Navigation Tour

Icer River Navigation Tour:

After breakfast, we will start our tour along Route 11 towards Los Glaciares National Park. We will pass by the edge of the main body of Argentino Lake and move on towards Punta Bandera Port, where, after paying the Park admission fee, we will get on a modern catamaran to sail among the icebergs through the Northern Branch and the Upsala Branch, towards the homonymous glacier. From another branch of the Lake, we will watch the highest Glacier: the Spegazzini Glacier, which is almost 100 metres high.

The Ice River Express tour from El Calafate is an exceptional day excursion, discovering the icy rivers in the South of Argentina. This Patagonian glacier full day tour invites you to sail across the northern waters of Lake Argentino and sightsee the stunning natural landscapes of the towering ice walls and the immense icebergs of the Los Glaciares National Park.

We will return to the port and then go to El Calafate by a land transportation vehicle.

Estancia Cristina Navigation Tour

Estancia Cristina Navigation Tour (full day)

After breakfast, we will start our tour along Route 11 towards Punta Bandera Port, where we will get on a catamaran to sail among the icebergs through the Northern Branch and the Upsala Branch, towards the homonymous glacier.  The tour continues along the Cristina Branch. Then we will disembark at a small pier located 800m away from Cristina Country Estate, a unique place for adventure activities.

Here the group will be split up according to the activity they choose to carry out:

Boarding and departure at Punta Bandera (NPC) at 8.15 am in a modern and comfortable ship.

6-hour stay at the Country Estate.
Guided tour to Costumbrista Museum (former Shearing Shed).
Guided hike to Caterina River and the Chapel, and walk around the buildings of the Country Estate.

Sailing among icebergs and stunning scenery overlooking the western front of the Upsala Glacier and then across Cristina Channel up to the disembarking area at the Country Estate.

Climbing by ATVs, travelling 9.5 km through mountain trails. Arrival at the Continental Ice Sheet shelter. 30-minute walk on land eroded by the glaciers. Privileged view of the Eastern front of the Upsala Glacier, Guillermo Lake, Southern Patagonian Ice Sheet and the Andes Mountain Range.
Return to the buildings of the Country Estate and boarding at 5.30 pm. Arrival at Punta Bandera Port at about 7.00 pm.

Option "Trekking Gully of Fossils Tour" (Cañadón de los Fósiles):

Boarding and departure at Punta Bandera (NPC) at 8.15 am in a modern and comfortable ship. It is recommended to be fit.
Sailing among icebergs and stunning scenery overlooking the western front of the Upsala Glacier and then across Cristina Channel up to the disembarking area at the Country Estate.
Arrival at Cristina Cristina Country Estate at 11 am.
6-hour stay at the Country Estate.
Climbing by ATVs, travelling 9.5 km through mountain trails.
We will explore a landscape that until recently was covered by glaciers and is a place of great geological interest.
Privileged view of the Eastern front of the Upsala Glacier, Guillermo Lake, Southern Patagonian Ice Sheet and the Andes Mountain Range.
We will go down in search of the Gully of Fossils, a marine fossils deposit. There is a valley with unique features inside the park.
Minimum age: 12 years old, accompanied by their parents.
Those who choose this activity will have lunch during the tour, and will return to the Country Estate to board the boat later on at 5 pm.

Balcony of El Calafate (Short Journey - 3 hours):
Total distance travelled: 15 km . Departing from El Calafate, we will go up to 1,100 metres above sea level. Through the east side of Huyliche Range, we will reach the balcony, where we will enjoy a panoramic view of Argentino Lake, El Calafate, Chaltén Hill, and Torre Hill, then we will reach the stone labyrinth at Anita Country Estate, a Cretaceous formation which is 85 million years old. Then we will go down to La Piedra de los Sombreros (The Hats Stone.) Return to El Calafate. It last 3 hours.


De Anita Ravines (Long Journey - 6 hours)
38km away from El Calafate, we will enter the field of Anita Country Estate, where we will start going up the ravines, and we will be able to see the Argentino Lake Valley, Rico Branch, Sur Branch, Anita Country Estate, Alta Vista Inn, Alice Country Estate, Buenos Aires Hill, Pietrobelli Hill and Cervantes Hill.
We will go down through the gully of Chorillo Malo, enjoying a spectacular view of the Perito Moreno Glacier, Roca Lake, Rico Branch and Sur Branch, reaching Chorrillo Malo Country Estate, where we will visit the cave paintings which can be found near the buildings of the Country Estate. Return to El Calafate. It lasts 6 hours.

Glaciar Sur Pioneros

Glaciar Sur Pioneros (full day)

Exclusive tour without physical effort and in small groups, making it ideal for visiting the Perito Moreno glacier in a unique way.

The tour starts from El Calafate at 9.00 Am going through the steppe along the old ¨estancias¨(farms) route, making stops at scenic points to reach Lake Roca. There you will visit Estancia Nibepo Aike where it takes place a shearing demonstration and mountain hiking around the place.

At noon, you will have lunch at the estancia: turn overs for starter, grilled lamb with salad bar for main course, dessert and drinks included. After a leisurely lunch, by vehicle you will travel 5 km to the port where you embark towards Playa de las Monedas, crossing the Rico Arm of Lake Argentino. Upon arrival, you will disembark and start a quiet 20 minutes walk in the forest reaching a viewpoint from where the south face of Perito Moreno Glacier is appreciated. Later, you embark again to sail against the south wall of the glacier and enjoy a glass of whiskey or vodka distilled in El Calafate with glacier ice.

Finally, you arrive at port Bajo de las Sombras and, by vehicle, will head towards the balconies of the glacier where will stay for about 2 hours.

You return to El Calafate driving through the traditional route arriving at 18:30 at your hotel.

Glaciar Sur Adventure

Glaciar Sur Adventure  (full day):

Innovative and exclusive, this is how this unique tour of Los Glaciares National Park is defined as it allows to reach the Glacier Frias combining trekkings and semi-rigid boat sailings in an almost unexplored landscape.

The activity takes place in small groups of up to 11 people beginning at 8:00 Am from your hotel in El Calafate.

The old route of the estancias (Route 15) will take us to Lake Rock located within the National Park where we cross a valley that reaches the border with Chile. This magnificent place shows glacial signs and moraines dating from 20,000 years ago until the last decade, so it's wonderful Patagonian nature at its finest.

In proximity to the Nibepo Aike estancia we will embark on a semi-rigid boat to sail the South Arm of Lake Argentino approaching the southernmost end of the lake where we will disembark.

Once ashore, we will hike into an unexplored site by making a priviliged trek to Lake Frias. At this lake, we will embark once again to cross to the opposite coast on motorized zodiacs and, eventually, make another trekking, in this case to the Glacier Grande.

You will enjoy a scenic valley with changing environments until you reach the amphitheater of glaciers which is a true timeline of the glacial era. In this spot you will have lunch watching the Grande, Cubo and Dickson glaciers.

The trekks included in the tour add 6 hours in total and 14 km of travel, with little gradient and medium technical requirements.

During the journey back to the city, we will share some mates while we appreciate the sunset and will arrive in El Calafate at approximately 19:00.

El Chalten Tour

El Chalten Tour (full day)

Since 7.30 am, a bilingual tour guide from our staff will start picking up the passengers at the hotels. After travelling eastwards about 30 km, we will take the Mythical Route 40 and pass by the edge of the east bank of Argentino Lake and the shore of Santa Cruz River; then we will come across La Leona River. The inn and hotel of La Estela Country Estate were named after the river. We will stop there to get to know a little bit more about the history of La Leona inn and hotel, where our excursionists will be able to enjoy hot tea with well-known homemade cakes. Afterwards, we will depart towards El Chaltén, First, we will pass by the edge of Viedma Lake, and stop to take pictures during the tour in order to enjoy the mountainous landscape and the panoramic views of the Viedma Glacier and Chaltén (Fitz Roy) and Torre hills. Around 11.00 am, Los Glaciares National Park will welcome us and the park rangers will be waiting to give us information about El Chaltén, the “National Trekking Capital.”

At about 11.30 am, we will be ready to start with our activities:

Option "Hike to Capri Lagoon"
Those who have chosen to walk towards the lagoon will be accompanied by mountain guides specialized in the area. Getting to the lagoon will take a walking time of approximately 2 hours and the length will be 7km. The first kilometres are fairly difficult for walking, as there is a steep slope. Along the way, you can feel like you are part of the forest, and upon arrival at Capri, we will have lunch and take our time to enjoy the magnificent views of Torre, Chaltén and Guillomet Hills, Madre e Hija Lagoons and the beautiful surroundings. At about 3.30 p.m. we will return to the town of El Chaltén, where a bus will be waiting to return to El Calafate. We will be back at the hotels at about 8.00/8.30 pm. 

Option "Viedma Light Sailing Tour"
Upon arrival at El Chaltén, we will head for Chorrillo del Salto waterfall, about 4 km away from the town, to continue enjoying the landscape embellished by a natural waterfall in the middle of the mountain range, Chorrillo del Salto. After travelling a long way and after having new experiences, we will go to La Tapera restaurant, where a tasty and necessary lunch will be waiting for us. Full of energy, we will depart towards Bahía Túnel Port, where we will get on a ship to view the Viedma Glacier, the largest glacier as compared with over 300 glaciers inside the National Park, and the largest glacier in Argentina. While sailing for 2 hours and 30 minutes, we will have a unique experience: enjoying the blue ice walls of the Viedma Glacier, which are 40 metres high. There are no physical restrictions for this excursion. By the end of the tour, our bus will be waiting to return to El Calafate. We will be back at the hotels at about 8.00/8.30 pm.

Option "Viedma Ice Trek"
Upon arrival at El Chaltén, we will enter Bahía Túnel Port, where we will get on a ship to travel towards the Viedma Glacier. For this walk on the glacier, which will last three hours and will be fairly difficult, we will be accompanied by qualified guides, who will provide us with the necessary technical equipment and give us all the necessary instructions on how to use crampons, ice axes, harnesses, etc. In the middle of the trek, we will stop to have what we took in our lunch box and then continue to enjoy the inner life of a glacier: by recognizing cracks, drains, moraine debris, caves, etc. There are some restrictions for this excursion; passengers under 12 are not allowed. The people who go on this tour must be used to walking on VERY uneven ground, they must wear warm clothes and gloves and it is COMPULSORY to wear trekking boots. At the end of the tour, we will go back to the pier where the ship will be waiting for us to return to Bahía Túnel. Finally, our bus will be waiting to return to El Calafate. We will be back at the hotels at about 8.00/8.30 pm.

Torres del Paine Tour

Torres del Paine Tour (full day)

The full day tour to Torres del Paine National Park will take you from El Calafate and across the border to explore Patagonia in Chile. Discover the colourful nature and impressive rocky landscape of the Torres Del Paine National Park. Trek along Patagonian park trails on this Torres del Paine day tour and sightsee the exceptional surrounding mountains, glaciers and lakes within the abundant nature in one of Argentina’s most spectacular national parks.

We will depart from the Argentine town of El Calafate since 5.30 am, from the hotel where the passengers are staying, as long as it is located within a radius of 3 km from the centre. Note that this is the time when pick-ups from the centre start, so it is an estimated time. At about 10.00 am, we will arrive at Frontera (the Border) (Castillo Hill), and after completing customs formalities, we will stop at the Chilean region of Castillo Hill. There you may exchange money, have a traditional breakfast, chat with the locals, etc. Next, our passengers will get on smaller buses, in order to achieve group cohesion, and more interaction with the guide, the specialist who will be with the group during the whole tour. That way, the group will get the most of their experience on this very special tour. At about 11.00 am, we will continue our bus ride to the Park, and arrive at the first attraction of our tour, Sarmiento Lake, at 11.40 am. We will stop there briefly in order to take the first photographs and enjoy the breathtaking landscape. The next stop of this tour will be at Amarga Lagoon Porter’s Lodge, around 12.30 pm; there we will pay the admission fee for Torres del Paine National Park. Our bus will depart towards Nordenskjold Lake, where we will arrive at 1.00 pm. We will enjoy this beautiful water mirror, which reflects one of the main Park attractions: the magnificent “Paine Horns.” Around 1.30 pm, we will arrive at Pudeto, where we will trek towards Salto Grande waterfall, and then move on to Paine Horns Lookout Point. This whole tour lasts about 1 hour and a half. On the way, the guide will decide which lookout point the group will go to first. It is a low difficulty walk. After enjoying the tour, we will go to the National Park Administration (Administración del Parque Nacional, Conaf), where we will arrive at about 4.00 pm. From there, we will return to Amarga Lagoon (at 4.50/5.00 pm). At 6.00 pm, we will arrive at Castillo Hill and return to El Calafate at about 10.30/11.00 pm.
