Wine Route Colchagua Valley Tour
The Colchagua Valley is 180 km to the south of Santiago and is considered one of the best vine-growing soils of Chile, in fact 27 vines of international reputation have settled their production centers is this valley, obtaining wines of international fame and awarded in the most important contests of the business at world-wide level.
You can get there through the Panamericana Sur highway, passing by the towns of Buin, Paine, Rancagua, until arriving at San Fernando, located at the south of the Tinguiririca River, to go towards Santa Cruz. This city is the departure point of this Wine Road, where the process, production and manufacture and warehouses can be appreciated in some these vineyards, such as Viu Manent and Viña Bisquertt, which combine the most modern technologies with the traditional wine production techniques.
The trip is made through the Chilean countryside, characterized by the fertility of its soil, beautiful landscape, where the oldest farmer’s traditions of our country can be found.
The Colchagua Museum stands out, with one of the most complete paleontological collections of South America, in addition to Pre-Columbian Art, History of Chile, a collection of liturgical objects and a collection of very old agricultural machinery.
Also “the wine train” stands out that leaves from Santiago for a trip through the country side, to taste wines and get to know the traditional Folklore of this zone of Chile, to arrive at the train Station of Santa Cruz and to continue this interesting circuit.
