Glaciar Sur Adventure
Glaciar Sur Adventure (full day):
Innovative and exclusive, this is how this unique tour of Los Glaciares National Park is defined as it allows to reach the Glacier Frias combining trekkings and semi-rigid boat sailings in an almost unexplored landscape.
The activity takes place in small groups of up to 11 people beginning at 8:00 Am from your hotel in El Calafate.
The old route of the estancias (Route 15) will take us to Lake Rock located within the National Park where we cross a valley that reaches the border with Chile. This magnificent place shows glacial signs and moraines dating from 20,000 years ago until the last decade, so it's wonderful Patagonian nature at its finest.
In proximity to the Nibepo Aike estancia we will embark on a semi-rigid boat to sail the South Arm of Lake Argentino approaching the southernmost end of the lake where we will disembark.
Once ashore, we will hike into an unexplored site by making a priviliged trek to Lake Frias. At this lake, we will embark once again to cross to the opposite coast on motorized zodiacs and, eventually, make another trekking, in this case to the Glacier Grande.
You will enjoy a scenic valley with changing environments until you reach the amphitheater of glaciers which is a true timeline of the glacial era. In this spot you will have lunch watching the Grande, Cubo and Dickson glaciers.
The trekks included in the tour add 6 hours in total and 14 km of travel, with little gradient and medium technical requirements.
During the journey back to the city, we will share some mates while we appreciate the sunset and will arrive in El Calafate at approximately 19:00.
